Third Thursday, April 18, 5-8pm
Join Fort Worth Bike Sharing for a special pop-up art exhibition featuring the final release of the infamous Art Bikes by local #FWBikesy artist, Gerald Bell.
#FWBikesy is a sick fleet of painted bike sharing bikes - thirteen original creations commissioned by FWBS. Bell has been celebrated for his use of color, bold strokes and exaggerated characters, which will again be on display in two-wheeled form. We’ll also showcase some of his famed mixed media artwork that will be available for purchase. Other limited edition SWAG will also be up for grabs, so go for a ride and see this fun exhibit in person while it lasts!
Gerald Bell has been creating art all of his life, evolving from folk art to abstracts to his current fascination and love of both pop and shock art. Bell struggles with Aspergers, leaving him often struggling with other people’s subtle cues and expressions. He states that he “has trouble reading between the lines” and has a fascination for human interactions and how people respond. Human complacency frustrates him while the interactions tires, compels and fascinates him. He does find it easier to understand people’s genuine, sincere joy and appreciation.
Bell is a self-taught artist and is best known for his vibrant colors and playful charters as his subject matter. He has shown in many Fort Worth and Dallas galleries, including multiple shows at Gallery 440 and 500X, as well as the Daisha Board Gallery, and McKinney Chamber Foundation, and multiple other curated group shows. He has also been chosen to exhibit at multiple high profile art fairs, including Fort Worth’s Main Street Art Fair, The Other Art Fair in Dallas and Fort Worth Art Fair.
